Vista backup problem error code 0x81000006

I have a 500GB Raid drive configured with my internal 80GB drive. It is mirrored so that all my important data can properly get backup on the 500GB drive. I had made some modification recently due to sata issue. I am constantly getting 0x81000006 error. I am quite not happy with the same. The backup keeps on failing on its own. I am not so expert in RAID configuration and need help to reset the entire process. Thanks in advance.

I am getting a similar error on my dell system. The difference that I am using a external hard drive. It is 250GB external drive which is used for backup process and RAID is configured on the same. I tried to use Norton Ghost inorder to keep a image file so that in future if there is any error I can restore things back. But that was not really working. I have Vista Home Premium. After making certain modification I made changes in the backup and it landed on me on the same error. I am rightnow using Windows internal backup application instead of RAID. I hope to get a reasonable answer on the same.

    Try complete backup

I had received the same kind of error on my system. And this appeared because my backup drive was full. I thought there is some problem with the setup. I deleted the old files and things went to normal for some days. After a few Windows Update I got the same error back. The progress is affected I think. I checked in Backup Status and verified all the settings. This looks some kind of driver failure to me.

The error appear because Windows Backup and Volume Shadow Copy is either stopped or fail to launch. You can set the same to automatic mode to stop the error. For that type services.msc in the Start > Run box and then type services.msc > hit enter. In that go on Services and look for Windows Backup and Volume Shadow Copy. Right click on that and set the same on automatic mode.
