Speed problem with Intel Q6600 (Quad Core) and Ultimate 64-Bit

Facing some problem with my config speed on both Vista 32bit and 64bit. My hardware is Intel Q6600 (Quad Core 2.4), Intel DG965WH Mobo, 4Gb RAM, PNY 8800GTS graphic card. When I installed Vista 32 bit on this config I noticed that its C PU Utilization is pretty good and windows score rates goes upto 5.9 on CPU. But the only problem here is that it wont uses all 4GB RAM. According to stats it only utilizes 3.2 GB of ram.

When I installed 64bit OS on the same, it runs too slow compared to the 32 bit. Its CPU Utilization remains upto 50% and uses all 4 GB RAM. And the windows score rates dropped to 4.6. Few of my Colleagues as well facing the same problem with Windows Vista 64bit. Is it like Vista 64 bit OS is not compatible with Intel Quad-core processors ? Anyone with good results ?

Talking about Ram, let me tell you that in Vista, lower the RAM usage, poor the performance. Higher Ram usage, higher performance. Yeah, that is correct because Windows Vista is completely different from any earlier windows. You should not be concerned if the system is using your entire RAM. And as far as 32bit OS is concerned, you must know that all 32bit vista have problem using more than 3 gig RAM. It is made in that way. You cannot do anything about this.

In my case, my config is Intel dg965wh motherboard with 4GB of OCZ DDR2 800MHZ RAM. I have installed vista Business Edition 32bit and it is working very good. Hence I don’t think the problem is with Processor but it is with Mobo.

Hey guys am here just to get a standard suggestion about which Vista edition will run on my following Config based computer:
    • Intel q6600
    • 4GB RAM ( 2 X 1GB OCZ, 2 X 1GB Crosair) all 4 sticks are 800MHz
    • Intel 975XBX2 board
    • XFX NVIDIA 7600GT XXX Edition

I tried installing Vista Ultimate, it worked fine in the start but just after a month it got too slow. Hence I removed the same and installed back Windows XP.

I request any hardware expert to please let me know which edition should I install on this system ?

Re: Speed problem with Intel Q6600 (Quad Core) and Ultimate 64-Bit

    Sup guys

    geez im fed up!!

    My specs:

intel core 2 quad 2.4 Ghz
    4 gigz ram
    GIGABYTE nvidia geforce 8500GT 512mb

This pc was used as a server bt now im planning on using it 4 gaming. I installed and old version of XP 32 bit and it ran pretty smoothly after installing a few drivers, but randomly it would just crash and go to the "blue screen" where it would dump physical memory, I began to think it was cause i was running a 32 bit OS on a 64 bit system ... well its what i thaught. So i installed Vista business which i thaught was a 64 bit OS but it turned owt 2 be a 32 bit. never the less it ran much faster than XP 32 bit but for sum reason it still randomly crashes and goes to the "Blue screen" where it dumps physical memory!!

Can anyone plz give me sum advice on how to fix this !!!
