Remote Assistance Cannot Make the Connection in Vista

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. I cannot connect my system using Remote Assistance.I am trying to connect to my friend using Remote Assistance but it is not working. It just gives me a popup on the screen saying that it is connecting. Later on there was a error and it stopped working. The message says that Remote Assistance is unable to make any connection. How should I fix the same. Thanks.

Are you working behind a router or there is some kind of security application configured. You must disable that and check. Also you have to configure the account of other person whom you are trying to connect. Ensure that you are having a valid ip address and it should work in properly. If you are behind a router you must forward a port and the see whether it works or not.
