Can not start Windows vista laptop

I am having Acer Aspire laptop running with Windows Vista. It was working fine until yesterday, today when I started the system I got the following message:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert you windows installation disc and restart your computer
2. Chose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

I have tried many things so far but yet unable to fix the problem. Somebody please help.

Analyzing this newsgroup I think that Vista is more initial failure compared to Windows XP. So I think you should better remove Vista and install XP or Linux. We need to do this unless Microsoft does something or release a final fix for the same.

That’s wrong dude,I don’t agree with you. I am having a Vista laptop just bought a month ago. Still after a heavy usage for a month my system is blazing fast and working without any problems. Only the reason I guess people facing problems with Vista is because of the junkware that come pre-installed with the OEM products because most of them don’t use to be compatible with Vista but they still install it.

Most probably you might be having some damaged or corrupted Registry or system file that is causing or preventing the system to Start. You should check this http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...sked-questions. There are many troubleshooting steps provided. Hopefully some of them will help you out.
