Unable to Backup Files with Error 800700B7

I am trying to backup some data on local network location using Vista’s Backup Files function but there seems to be some problem. The network location is easily accessible \\server\folder\ but as soon as I click on Next to create the backup, it gives me the following error:

The network share could not be accessed for the following reason:
Cannot create a file when that file already exists. (0x800700B7) Please ensure that the network location is valid.

I don’t know what all this error means but as the second line says something about existing file, I can tell that there is not a single file on that location. Somebody please help me out of this ?

Even I’m facing the same problem while backing up data on Vista Ultimate 64bit to Network storage device. Are you also trying to backup data on NAS ? The device am using is Cisco/Linksys NSLU2 with firmware version V2.3R63. As a workaround I tried changing some settings under Vista's local security policies to make it use “Send LM & NTLM - Use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" but dint worked anyhow.

I am just unable to figure out what could be the problem because my NAS device is also accessible without any problem. Is there somebody who have experience with such situation ?

I would have to confess that after hours of trawling the internet I refused to believe that the username "everyone" and my administrator password would work, but it did. What is wrong with Vista? (Don't try and answer that ...)

What operating system are you using? Have you tried the following:
    stop the WindowsUpdate service
rename the SoftwareDistribution folder to SoftwareDistribution.old
    restart the WindowsUpdate service
    Open an elevated cmd prompt
type in net stop wuauserv /y
    hit Enter
    rename the folder above
    type in net start wuauserv
    Hit Enter
