Bluescreen Irql_not_less_or_equal error on boot

I keep on getting Irql_not_less_or_equal error on boot. The system just boot and when the lan is loaded it crashed. I had just installed few games, software and windows update recently. I am using Vista. Bluescreen is a kind of serious bug with the system. It might be due to some kind of hardware failure or driver fault. I am not able to figure out the actual problem behind the same. Is there anyone that can help me to understand the problem. Thanks.

Check the dump file. It will give you more detail about the error. There are certain drivers which may be not compatible or recent Windows Update has manipulated Windows File. You can run system restore first and if that does not work then you have to go with system recovery.

You can locate the complete error message by disabling Automatic Restart on crash. For that go in Safe Mode. If this is driver problem then your system will not crash in safe mode. Just right on My Computer > Properties > Advance System Properties. Click on Startup and Recovery and click on Settings. From there disable automatic restart. Now go back in normal mode. If your system crashes again then you have option to note down the full error and then locate appropriate solution based on that.
