Can't wake computer from sleep! among other things

Using windows Vista on desktop. Everything working well except one thing, my system just don’t want to come back from sleep mode. Once it goes to sleep mode no matter I press keyboard keys, or move mouse or press the power button, it wont awake from sleep. The only is to do a hard reboot by holding power button for a while. Apart from this there is also a problem with windows updates. It just wont allow me to installed Windows update.

Is it just me facing all these problem or any one of you have experienced the same before. Please help me.

Was it working fine before? If yes, you can fix it by restoring your system to any earlier working restore point.

I had the same problem and it was caused by a recent installed application. Did you installed any thing recently? If yes, try removing the same and see if it works. Remember that restoring will work only if it was working fine earlier.

Even I was facing the same problem with my Vista and in my case it was DreamSecene. Once I removed DreamScenes, it started working properly. See if that is not the problem for you. If not, than try out the hotfix provided in this Microsoft KB regarding the bibernation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928135).

Thanks for sharing the Hotfix buddy, but that dint worked for me, infact made the situation worse. Now even my startup became buggy. Finally I reverted back to Windows XP.
