64bit internet browser works, but 32bit aren't.

I am running Windows Vista 64 bit edition operating system and after installing Avast free antivirus on my computer, then most of the network related applications are not running which are mostly 32 bit apps. This includes firefox, google chrome, internet explorer, etc. So, I uninstalled Avast but still it is not working. After that I removed manually all the services and registry entries, but to no avail. Can anyone help me what to do in this case?

Try the below method and see if that fixes your issue:

1. First of all open a command prompt as an administrator and then type the following commands without the quotes:
   "Ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.
   "Netsh int ip reset" and press Enter
2. Now, Vista will then try to restart, so do it.
3. When it will boot up again then open the command prompt as admin once again and then type the following commands without the quotes:
   "Netsh winsock reset"
4. Again Vista will restart and when it starts back up hopefully IE7 will work once again

Even I am facing similar problem. I am only able to use the Internet Explorer 64 bit in Vista and not 32 bit? I have read many solutions for this issue but still nothing. When I try to open 32 bit Internet Explorer then it will just flash for some seconds and then will not open. Can anyone tell me another method to solve this issue? Thanks.
