vista cannot connect to windows server 2003 domain

I’m having a Windows Vista Busniess laptop connected with a Wireless Network. Being a newbie I need help regarding domain connection. I want to connect this laptop with windows XP 2003 server domain but it is getting failed every time. Whenever i try doing the same, it gives a pop up with some error message saying about DNS. It is asking you to set the server's IP address for DNS resolution. You will need to ask help from your IT Dept for the same.
