could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed

If I am trying to click on a link which is like mailto:address@somehere.com in Internet Explorer browser or maybe in Windows Live Mail, then I will get the following error message in Internet explorer which states that "could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed". I have already checked that Windows Live Mail is the default program used in my computer. Even when I am making the Windows Mail as default program then also it gives the same error message. Can anyone help me please. Thanks.

Well, incase if you are using an old version of Windows Live Mail, then I suggest you to download the updated version of WLM and install it on your pc. After the installation is finished, the mail client setting that you are using should be reset to default. Another workaround that you can do is by going to Start and then go to Default Programs and then go to Set default Programs and here you have to select Windows Mail and click Set as Default. To work around this issue:

• In Internet Explorer, click Source on the View menu.
• In the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) source code, locate the list of e-mail recipients. For example:
  
  • <A HREF="mailto:someone@somewhere.net,anyone@anywhere.net">visible
    text</A>
• Select the e-mail addresses.
• Copy the e-mail addresses to the Clipboard by clicking Copy on the Edit menu.
• Quit Notepad.
• In Outlook Express, click Compose Message.
• Click the To box, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
