My Windows mail won't delete messages from my in-box

Hello friends, am in need of some urgent help. Am using Windows Vista and facing some problem with the Mail. I have many mails in my inbox that have not opened till now because they are not so necessary to read. And now whenever I go to delete them, it fails with an error message saying something like an Unknown Error Occurred.

Can you guys please help.

I have faced a similar problem a year ago. Later I came to know that most probably it was an internal Windows Mail integrity problem. After doing some research I managed to fix the problem. So here is what you need to do. Just right click all those unread message and first mark the as read. Hope you can do it in bulk. Once marked as read, now try deleting them. Hopefully it will work.
