What exactly happens instead? In case Windows reboots in a loop, you
may want to press the [F8] key and choose "Disable automatic restart
on system failure" in the menu showing up then. In case you'll get a
BlueScreen afterwards, please share the details which are shown there.
You may also want to try if Windows starts in Safe Mode.
Bye,
Freudi
I have this problem, I could not start my computer after I installed Service
pack3, however it worked in safe mode, but I had to make a PC recovery on
order to start in normal mode:(

Since you didn't posted the BSOD message, one can only speculate that
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888372 *may* help you in resolving the
issue in case you have a AMD processor running in your machine.

Freudi

I had the same trouble on my HP with an AMD. the answer is to restart in safe
mode with network support, then run HP Update, restart and all is well.

I don't know very much about computers and went through a variety of sites and forums trying to find the best way to stop the perpetual loop after installing SP3. According to the sticker on the side of my drive I have an AMD Athion 64 processor 3200+. I just wanted to leave a note to let anyone know that Wolfman's fix here does work and is so much simpler than any other that I found. I was worried because no-one had commented/verified his method and so I am doing it myself. Thanks Wolfman.
