Okay, i know some of use have been getting this error because of the daylight
savings time change. I NEED HELP!! I have did everything that the windows
vista community has asked me to do. Thanks guys i appreciate it. But yet,
still not working. Ive changed the date and time manually, adjusted to
internet server time. Ive did the recertification process and booted,
restarted and booted more times than you know. How do i fix this error.
PLEASE HELP.

has any body found a solution yet? I just got my new presarioc700 laptop,
runs vista. Windows update does not work, displays "80072f8f" error, I have
read every post that a forum search turned up, and still can't update. any
advice?

If yes, then what is the installed antivirus/security suite ? It may be
what's preventing Windows Update from reading the correct date/time of
your system.
I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me... So you go to
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate, then in the search box search for
"root certificate update"... download this update. When you have finished
downloading go to the spot you saved it in and install it... then try Windows
Update again, if it still doesn't work try restarting it, if after all this
it doesn't work i'm sorry i have nothing else.

hey everybody i have the same problem but i fixed it its so simple all what u have to do is to set the right date and time for ur pc nd then try to update again.....:)
