I've been trying to install "Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB938371)," but I have been getting this "8024AFFF" error code every time. I've had this problem for 3 days. Any ideas?

To get rid of the problem you can try using Windows Update troubleshooter. This is a ready to use tool which can help you to resolve a series of various problem in your system. I use this always whenever there is a issue with new updates. It automatically resolve the problem. You can download this tool and run it. It will scan your system for damage updates and will try to fix the same. It is extremely easy to use. For time being try to skip the update. It is buggy due to which you are facing the problem. You can try updating it back once you get a proper version.
Did you tried running the update manually. You can download that from web and then run the setup. If still it is giving you the same error then for test purpose try another update. This might work. If not then you have to run a repair setup of your OS. Repair setup does not touch your files or installed programs. It just replace damage system files. You have to use windows installation disc for the same. It has a repair your system option where you can run the setup and then test back. It looks the Windows Update utility in your system is having some problem.
