See if this thread helps. Knowing what Operating System you're running and SP
    would help though:

    Hi, Peter;

The error 0x80200010 is a BITS error indicating you are disconnected
from the network. It could be that you lost the connection to the WU
website due to the site being updated or some other networking issue.

Please give WU another try and see if you receive the same error. If
so, please note your online status at the time. Also post back with the
version of Windows you use (to include service pack level), the type of
networking setup you have (dial-up, DSL, via a LAN or similar), if using
a proxy or other firewall, and anything else you think will help us to
    track down the problem.

re: Windows Update Error message 0x80200010

    Hi, Paul;

Your issue is probably quite different than the one Peter posted. The
0x800703EE error normally indicates that one or more files have either
been altered, have been lost, or are corrupted so that they cannot be
opened or cannot be read once open.

This could mean file corruption on your system, or that your AV software
is preventing reading of the file, or that some other 3rd party
    application is interfering.

As a start I'd recommend you close all applications, do a full "Scan for
errors" on the drive you are using, and of course a full anti-virus and
    malware scan.

If the problem persists, try to determine what file is causing the
problem. You may be able to get clues for this in the WindowsUpdate.LOG
file located in your Windows folder --- you can open it with Notepad,
then scroll down to the bottom for the most recent entries. It may help
if you copy the last 15 lines (and not much more than that) and include
    those in your next post.

I supposed that you are using Panda Paltinum 2005 Internet Security or Panda
Antivirus Titanium 2005, if you do please install the following updates:

    - Panda Paltinum 2005 Internet Security

    - Panda Antivirus Titanium 2005

Realtek - Networking - Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS
    6.0)

I have downloaded and installed this update 7 times. It does show in the
installed update history as an installed update. I don't know why it shows up
again in the windows update as an available update?

Do *not* get hardware updates from the Windows/Microsoft updates web page
unless your hardware happens to be Microsoft manufacturered... Always get
the hardware drivers (when you need them) from the actual manufacturer of
    said product.

re: Windows Update Error message 0x80200010

    Hi;

I don't have anything more on the 0x800703EE error than what I posted
previously. Your log also shows the 0x80240022 error later in the
session but that just means that the failure happened on all updates.

Have you done a full "Scan for errors" (disk scan) on your hard drive?
Checked for virus and malware completely? Something is preventing the
necessary Windows Update files from downloading to your system. You
might try a different firewall or at a lower security level. Also,
instead of using the Express button on Windows Update use the Custom
one, then mark or unmark things so you only have one update at a time to
download --- that may make it simpler for you to trace the issue.

Sorry that I don't have more concrete steps for fixing this.

HI, (in regards to error "0x800703ee")

I was having this same problem and here is the solution:

basically what is happening is this, there is a cdm.dll file in the c:/windows/system32 folder that is corrupt. (check your log files to make sure, c:/windows/windowsupdate.txt)

then go to another computer, copy the cdm.dll file to your jumpdrive or disc and then copy it back to the original computer.

when you log back in to windows updates, it will ask you to "Update" and from there it will allow you to do the windows updates.

it is working right now for me!

however, the corrupt file may be something othere than the "cdm.dll" file that i was experiencing problems with. you will need to check you log files (c:/windows/windowsupdates, open with notepad) just to make sure. if it is a different file, just do the same thing with that file as well.

    good luck

By "download a printer" I assume you mean that you are trying to install a
printer driver that you have downloaded. (Generally speaking it is not possible
to transmit hardware over the internet!)

This newsgroup supports the Windows Update web site. I suggest you create a new
thread in the newsgroup appropriate for the operating system you are using, or
perhaps a newsgroup or support forum relating to the particular model of printer.

If relating to a printer driver - the driver you are trying to install is already
installed or the driver that you’re trying to install is an older driver than the one you
    have already.

All drivers should be obtained from the manufacturer's site rather than from Windows
    Update.

    Windows Update error 80070103
    http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...dabcd1033.mspx

I have a new laptop, with Windows XP installed and have been using Microsoft
Update to apply updates since SP2. Fifteen upates successfuly installed
without hitch, but now my system will not install downloaded updates which
persistently fail with the message : "A problem on your computer is
preventing updates from being downloaded or installed".

I have tried several times with the same result. I've searched for
information on Error ox80004002, and although there is some information, I
cannot find a specific fix. Hope someone has a solution.

Registering Wups2.dll fixed the problem and remaining updates have now
    installed successfully.

I am puzzled, as this laptop is identical to one I set up last Friday with
which I had no probems. XP has not been repaired, but the difference with
this laptop is that I downloaded & installed Windows Defender.

I repeatedly recieve the error code 80244019. Similar error also appears on
the updated for windows defender. When redirected to the webpage to manually
download the updates. The webpage refuses to open and downloading is stopped.

You cannot download updates when you access the Windows Update Web site from
a Windows XP-based computer that is behind a firewall or a proxy server

    Windows Update Error message 0x80200010

I get the same error message as Paul. I have tried all that I could and
still am unable to figure out why windows will not update. I even tried the
jump drive trick posted on a different thread but that didn't work as well.

Does anyone have a concrete answer on how to fix this? Microsoft hasn't
responded to my inquiry which was sent well over a month ago.

That's probably what your error code is telling you. ; )
