This is very interesting so pay close attention. This is the first time I've
posted here but not the first time I've had this discussion with other Techs.
I reluctantly purchased a new system because of "power supply failure" with
my old system and just did not want to replace the power supply. I had no
choice but to accept Vista as the new OS as that was on all of their
computers. I did what I normally do. I checked out the OS and actually every
thing seemed great! Greater than great! I was impressed! In 24 hours I
downloaded and installed each and every update that was available for Vista.
After that, my system seemed to run like "CRAP"!! To make a long story short,
I did a factory reset (back to its original settings) and everything went
back to normal. Everything is working great! My new plan is not to install
any updates until the SP2 is out. It worked for me and I'm sure it will work
for you. I don't know how relevant this is but my new computer is never
connected to the internet! (things that make you go mmmmmmm.) That's the best
advice I can give. Good luck!

Hey greekeagle - would you know what to do if the Install folder is gone? I
think I deleted during the fix given...deleting temp files, etc.

Also, my Internet Explorer has stopped working today so I can't download
from the internet unless from another computer.

    Thanks!
