When I try to install the update KB932818 I get this message. I tried to
install using the standalone installer but that didn't work either.
When I try to install the update KB932818 I get this message. I tried to
install using the standalone installer but that didn't work either.
Error code 80073715 under kb938194-- I have Windows Vista/Basic. My updates
are scheduled and auto/done. I have had several other updates that have
failed and a few days later they are updated successfully (automatically).
This one failed and it has been over a week now and every auto attemp has
failed. I attempted to manually update and received same error. If anyone
can review/adivse on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is little or no help for Vista unfortunately.
Please post back the results your receive that work from MS to benefit others.

<cmd_output OS="XPsp2">

14101 is not a valid Windows network message number.

Does Vista give you any better clue from net helpmsg 14101
(in a cmd window)?
As usual the context of the code is more important than the code itself.
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms681384.aspx
(Live Search for
(80073715 OR 0x8003715 OR 14101) site:microsoft.com
)

That sounds like a corrupt download or a packaging problem.
Since you have tried installing it manually, I think that would tend
to make the latter more probable. However, again, context is king.
What other messages does the install log show? What does the
Event log show at the same time? If you aren't getting enough clues
from those sources, since you have the update ready to install manually
again you could supplement it with verbose logging. Or, if the above
meaning of the code is correct, you might get more conclusive proof
of a packaging problem by attempting to expand the package. Etc.
(Tip: use the command-line help for the package or the associated
TechNet Bulletin for help with the syntax for doing that.)
