Windows updates fail with error 0x8007f004

Can't get win updates installed. Here is error message from the Event Viewer.

Description:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with
error 0x8007f004: Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB873333).

I had the same problem with a different error message. I logged on to chat
support and Lavanya corrected the problem. It took a long time but she now
knows how to fix it. If you go to chat support I would try to get her.

Hi
I had exactly the same problem and I just solved it, in AD right click on
your DC properties>Group Policies
Then edit the one you have by default or create a new one, go to:
Computer configuration>Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local
Policies>User rights assignement
Select "Manage auditing and security log" and add the groups or users you
need to update with.

I've done this on my domain controller (server 2003), and when I check my
local Group Policies, it shows correctly, but I still can't get the patch to
run, either through Windows Update (it just fails) or by running it manually
(it tells me I don't have permission).

Help?

Sorry but what does "AD" stands for and where does "DC" stand for ?

Perhaps look at: Error message when you try to install a hotfix or an update on a Windows
XP computer: "You do not have permission to update Windows XP"
