Vista Service Pack 2 Installation Error: Code 8007371C

When I try to instal the Vista Service Pack 2 I receive the error code:
8007371C. The help guide I follow is practically useless to me considering
that it is aimed at helping the not so tech savy mother or granny. I've hit
the Try again button several times but the same thing happens no matter how
    many times I "Try again".

    S.O.S!

    - Ricky

The most reliable method for applying Service Packs in Vista is to
download and *save* the full standalone package:

    Vista SP2 x86 [32bit]
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...2-a5c3199ea2b3

    Then clean boot Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Do 'Step 1: Perform a clean boot'

Check to see if the system has any CBS inconsistencies by running the
    System Update Readiness Tool (CheckSUR):
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

Next, create a folder on the root drive and name it SP2.
Move Windows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe (SP2) to the newly created folder.
Then *right* click Windows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe and choose 'Run as
administrator'. Follow the prompts to allow it to run Elevated.

After SP2 installs, undo the clean boot steps.

If there still is an error, post to the Vista SP2 forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...istasp/threads

Or, contact MS - " Free unlimited installation and compatibility support
is available for Windows Vista, but only for Service Pack 2 (SP2). This
support for Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) is valid until February
    26, 2010. "
