How many devices can connect to one hotspot?

I created a hotspot on my laptop with My WIFI Router software.I'm wondering how many devices can be connected?Will too many devices would cause slow connection?

Well, most of the wifi wireless access points or routers can easily support upto 255 devices at a time. But connecting as many devices to the wireless network will also slow down the internet to great extent. As for the My WIFI Router software, there was nothing mentioned how much it supports but after testing you can easily get to know about its details.
