Vlc media player 2.0.1 starts very slowly

I am having problems with the new version of VLC media player 2.0.1. I am on a computer that I run for atleast 20 hours a day for downloading stuffs and playing games. The problem is that whenever I start VLC 2.0.1 to watch any videos then it will start very slowly. This issue will happen anytime randomly even when I restart my pc? Can anyone tell me what is the problem that is causing this issue? Thanks

Did you try to reset the VLC media player settings by removing the %appdata%\vlc folder? Try that and see if it works. If it doesnt then try reinstalling the latest version of old version and see if that makes some correction. Also, try to turn off hardware accelaration and refresh rate to lower settings like 60hz. Also install the latest graphics driver in your system.

Even I am facing this slow starting of the VLC media player latest version of 2.0.2 in my pc. I am running Windows 7 on my computer and for the first time if I am opening VLC thn it will take atleast 20 seconds to start. After that when I restart the pc and when open VLC then it opens quickly. This problem doesnt happen with the VLC 1.x versions. It definitely seems to be a bug.

I am on a Windows 8 pc and I have solved this issue by performing a clean boot in my computer. I was also having problems with Windows 8 store which got solved along with VLC that is opening very fast now. I dont really know what was the issue causing this but clean boot has definitely solved my issue and I am happy now.
