    Alternative for Ultramon

Is there any alternative software for UltraMon that is compatible with Windows 7/Windows 8? There is a version 2.6 of UltraMon that usually works properly in Windows 7, but I didnt like the taskbars for additional monitors. I just want taskbar on each monitor that can show the applications on that monitor only. I also want to run different wallpaper on each monitor or apply native resolution wallpaper across all monitors. So, is there anyone who can help me out with this issue? Thanks.

Have you tested DisplayFusion? It has been developed to address many issues and it will simplify the dual-screen functioning as well. Changing wallpaper is done by some users on a regular basis, but when you have two monitors, two images can be applied for both which is better! On Windows, it is unfortunately not possible to do this by default, but with this free application you can select a wallpaper lying on both displays, or choose a different wallpaper for each monitor.

There is a beta version of Ultramon v3.07 which seems to be working properly on Windows 7 64 bit edition as well. It will do what you want exactly and there is also an option to setup the taskbar on the 2nd monitor which could be mirrored from the first one or so. In its previous version, it didnt have this all functions.

You can also check out Actual's Multiple Monitors program. With it you can organize your work on multiple monitors simultaneously. You can also find all Windows services configured in the same way on any screen, allowing you to save time. All operations will be simplified and much faster execution can be done with an optimized configuration and keyboard shortcuts effectively.

Well, there are a huge list of alternative software for Ultramon, one such is called ZBar. It is simply a utility for managing multiple monitors. Each monitor is represented by a taskbar at the bottom so that you can switch between them easily. As these bars display the application icons that open on each screen and are colored differently, they are easy to identify. Fully customizable, ZBar lets you to organize the location of its bars to display in one or two rows of buttons. Finally, each bar also has a calendar that can display the day of the last six months, last month, the current month or four months.

The best that I liked was Kitoolbar that proposes to create toolbar as you want on your desktop. You can group your applications shortcuts, your favorite websites, your favorite files, your directory as per your choice by doing some adjustments. In the properties, you can also choose the orientation of the monitor (dual screen), color, visibility, transparency, text icons, etc.
