MS word 2010 freezes and crashes upon saving

My system run on windows 7 and I have installed Microsoft office 2010. Outlook, excel, Powerpoint are working fine but there is something wrong with “MS word”. I can launch it and work on it without any issues but as soon as I click on save it freezes up and crashes after some seconds. It happens most of the times but not always. Is there anything I can do about it? Currently I am carrying out my work on notepad but since it doesn’t highlight grammatical mistakes I want to get MS word working as soon as possible.

Did you made clean installation of Microsoft office 2010? Or you have installed it without uninstalling the older version?? In case you have installed it without uninstalling older version then you will have to uninstall them both and make clean installation of Microsoft office 2010. If that’s not the case then simply repairing office 2010 should work out for you.
You can open control panel > Add remove program > select “Microsoft office 2010” form the list > click on change > and select repair. Once repairing process gets completed, restart your system and cross check if word 2010 starts working fine.

I was using Microsoft office 2007 earlier but I had uninstalled it before installing Microsoft office 2010. I dint faced any issue while installing office 2010, don’t know what went wrong with MS word after the installation. As suggested I have tried repairing office 2010 and I have tried doing that a couple of times but there’s no improvement. I’ll try uninstalling and reinstalling it, will let you know if that ends the issue in my case.

Follow the second one. Sometimes even after uninstalling Office 2010 from control panel its instances remain in our system and you will have to delete its remains manually. So in that case using the Microsoft Fix it will be a better idea. Just give it a try and let me know if that helps, best of luck.
