Unable to zoom out in image with Photoshop cs5 but possible in cs3

I was using Photoshop CS3 from last 6 months but now i have upgraded it to CS5. Well, i liked some new of the new features of this release, but there are some drawbacks as well. I tried to zoom out a image in CS5 but it didn’t work. I tried many times but yet the same result. When i used to work on cs3, i was able to zoom out in images. Can anyone tell me, how to solve this problem?

Its not like the feature is not in CS5. You might be making some mistakes. Just follow the below steps to do the same:

Select the zoom tool for zooming the image or use zoom command for zooming in and zooming out for image.
Go to edit, choose preferences. In preferences select performance do this steps for windows OS. Click on Photoshop then choose preferences and in preferences select performance this steps for MAC OS.
In general preferences you will get more options. Such as Animated zoom, zoom resizes window, zoom with scroll wheel, and zoom clicked point to center.
Animated zoom helps you to zoom continuously. For animated zooming press and hold zoom tool.
Zoom resize Windows help you to resize the window automatically while zooming.
You can also zoom with scrolling wheel which is on the mouse.
Click on the center of image to zoom the center location.

For easy and smooth zooming try animated zooming. Try the following steps for animated zooming.

Go to edit, in edit go to preferences and in preferences go to general.
Go to general enable OpenGL Drawing in preferences and in preferences select performance. The latter preference also needs to be checked if you want to use the scrubby zoom feature.
Click on the zoom button and then select scrubby zoom in the option bar.
Then select document window and drag it to right side for zoom in or drag it to left side for zoom out.
