    Suggestion for Alternative of GIMP

I am new to the iMac PPC. I have used the GIMP and I really liked this. When I tried this with my mac then it was not working with that. Now I am searching for some other alternative to GIMP where I can get the same functionality as the GIMP. If you know any such things then please reply. I will be thankful to all the replies for this.

My recommendation to you is to make use of the Pixelmator. New and improved features in Pixelmator 1.6

    • 64-bit support
    • Layers groups
    • Direct export to Flickr, Picasa and Facebook
    • Direct import of cameras, scanners, multifunction devices and mobile devices like iPhone and iPad
    • New transformation tools
    • The print function has been developed from scratch.
    • New Automator actions: "Trim Images" ("Crop Images") ("embed watermarks") & "Watermark Images"
    • Improved integration with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

Images are imported directly from the camera or from your hard disk into the user interface of Aperture. The software supports all standard image formats and various camera models.

Graphic Converter brings a complete solution for digital images on the Mac. The program will open, edit and convert image files in numerous formats. GraphicConverter opens image files in formats close to 200 or directly from connected cameras and scanners with many tools, effects and filters to edit the images directly into the software. If necessary, you can expand the scope of functions of Photoshop compatible plug-ins.

GraphicConverter does more than reveal the name. In addition to the conversion of many image formats, the software processed the material with its own image editor and displays the files using a convenient picture viewer.
    Benefits
    • knows almost all formats
    • Batch mode with adjustable actions
    • powerful image editor
    • Disadvantages
    • simple tool bar

    • Full compatibility XCF (Gimp native format)
    • Reads and writes PNG, JPG, JPEG2000, TIFF
    • Reading of BMP, PICT, PDF, GIF and XBM
    • Support of layers (overlay effects / fusion)
    • Brushes and fonts anti-aliased (smoothed)
    • Gradients and textures
    • Support for graphics tablets
    • Some filters, as plugins
