Using Blending tool in GIMP

Blend tool in GIMP fills the selected area with colors from background or one can fill it with desired colors using gradient blend. The blend tool has many more uses other than filling area with Gradient blend or background color.

• To get blend tool, one can find it in Image Menu =>Tools => Paint tools => Blend.
  
• Shortcut key to blend tool is ‘L’ from keyboard.

Blend tool can be used to manipulate the shadows & highlights in an image. The areas in shadows can be brightened up or areas with bright reflections can be reduced to darker area.
In short, blend tool can be used to manipulate the exposure of light in an image.
