Ways to disable object snap in Word 2010

Hi I have this problem don’t know how to get rid of this whenever I draw something the first object is proper but the another one when drawn will get linked to the first one which I don’t want I m not able to draw like I could in the previous versions. Please help

The problem what you have seems to be because of compatibility issue normally it happens that when a file created in word 2003 or an earlier version is created under compatibility mode and used in 2010 it creates such a problem otherwise there is no problem in it as such. The only last option what you could try is in the align settings. Once you click on an object the drawing tab will open in it on the right had side you would find align drag down and select grid settings. In it uncheck snap objects to other objects. Try it might help.

What I think is there are some problem in your settings a final solution to it what I feel is to reinstall office suite or if it’s just the temporary thing that you need do then Hold the alt key and then place your object wherever you want to it actually overrides the setting.
