Seems to be no packages obtainable intended for Natty (Ubuntu version is derived from Mint 11).

You be capable to acquire away with using 'Software Sources' to edit the Maverick PPP rather than stylish. Is likely to work, but could end up breaking something.

I installed easily by following the instructions in that thread. Now when I open it, however, I get this error:xmbc need hardware acceleration.

Think this has something to do with something related to XBMC - my dock wobbly windows and Cairo are no longer working well. Or you minimize all the animations and other advanced animations (though they are enabled)

    How to install this

    Code:
    sudo apt-get -y install xbmc
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
    xbmc : Depends: xbmc-bin (< 2:11.0~git20111023.0e8168e-0ubuntu1~ppa1~natty.1~) but 2:11.0~git20111024.c5758bf-0ubuntu1~ppa1~natty is to be installed

Re: How to install XBMC in Linux Mint

I'm using Linux Mint 11 and thought to try this method because it cannot find help elsewhere. It seemed to work - have downloaded a lot of things when I entered the commands, but do not know where to find the application now! Not in the main menu of the software, I searched my file system to 'xbmc and found nothing, and is not in Synaptic (although I do not expect as it is).

Why cannot just be an installer for that, like all other programs at the Center for Software? It is certainly very popular! Can anyone help me? I would love to leave my computer through remote desktop, if you can,

Installation in Ubuntu and Linux Mint:

To install XBMC on Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 and Julia LinuxMint10, we first have to install some dependencies, to make the open terminal and copy the following commands:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install python-software-properties pkg-config

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install xbmc xbmc-standalone
