office 2007 upgrade - lost 2003 disc, old laptop dead

    Hi

First post, pretty cheesed off and in need of some assistance.

Basically, my old laptop had Office 2007 upgrade version, which i stil have the disc / activation codes / box.

My laptop is stone dead. Long story. Bought a new laptop, and needed to load up Office 2007.

It won't let me, requiring the original disc (2003 i think). I cannot find this anywhere.

Since i paid for 2003, then the upgrade, i'd be pretty furiou if i was forced into paying another £400 or so for the full Office software again. Must be a way around this - can anyone help???

Dont you think the setup of office 2007 will be there in your new laptop that you have got? Just find the setup file and run it. you will find the installation file in the following location C:/Program Files x86/**. So thats the place you should be checking out.

    Hi

Sorry i probably didn't explain myself properly.

The new laptop only has office 2010 'trial' edition, word and excel, both limited.

The old laptop is 5 yrs old, came with office 2003. Later i bought 2007 uograde version. Old laptop died a death. I've moved house 3 times and somewhere along the line i have lost the 2003 disc.

With the new laptop i tried to put in 2007 upgrade disc. It searched the computer and is saying there is no previous edition to 'upgrade'.

I want to know - is there a fix or do i have to buy 2007 or 2010 full edition again???

Checked your suggestion, nothing but 2010 starter edition there

See, if you have the product key of office 2003 then what you can do is download the office 2003 from microsoft website and install it on your pc and input the product key to activate it and then upgrade to the office 2007 later onward. Or simply call Microsoft at (800) 360-7561 and order a replacement CD as long as you have the valid product key.
