The ms office 2010 that you have got is trial version that will expire within few days or months so you can uninstall it , to uninstall its software go to control panel and select the uninstall a program wizard , in that navigate to MS Office 2010 and right click on it and select the uninstall this will open a new window and ask for uninstall , press ok this will remove all the components of office 2010 and your system will ask for reboot. Reboot the system and insert the disc or usb that contains office 2007 in it . Use an license copy for installation so that windows does not gives any error , the cd should automatically start the setup and if auto run is disabled then double click on .exe which will run the set up , if you have the set up in usb then open the usb and copy set up file and all other components in to your hard drive and double click on it ,this will start the installation , Enter the product key and click on continue , click on install now and wait for 10 to 15 minutes to complete the installation . When installation is complete click on office 2007 , this will ask for activation, click on activation and make sure that you are connected to internet . Check for latest update including updates for xp service pack 2 . This is the most used and simplest method to install the ms office.

You can install both ms office 2010 and 2007 on single machine but if you get an error message when any previous version of software is installed and both of them are trying to enter in same destination folder . To install office 2007 over 2010 you have to uninstall the previous version and restart the computer so that it can accept the new installation that is recommended.

It depends on which version of windows you are installing the software whether it is 32 bit or 64 bit because the software alters during installation when it installed on different bit operating system which may give you an error , so check for the windows update from your computer and download them which are required to install 2007 over 2010.
