IE 9.0.8112 on Vista Home Premium with Office 2007

I am unable to to save to favorites or to the favorites bar. I have no problems using, printing or any other issues. I have done some research and it seems that MS Office OneNote 2003 and (Home and Student version of 2007 which is the version in question on this system)..... needs to be uninstalled to allow this basic capability of IE or any browser for that matter. I have not found a clean way as yet to un-install this component:

Below is the thread on this site.... but it does not cover the procedure to do.

Well, I did it ... started from scratch and discovered that the root
cause of the issue was an install for Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 -
without this installed it works fine, installing it causes the issue.
    System Restore corrects it.

I hope this is of use to someone else

I need to return this unit to my friend, after a RAM upgrade and over 223 Updates that were long over due. The unit runs great and no other issues exist, other than, this issue of the favorite and the associated bar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....
    Thank you.
    Mike

You can try this also. You have to create a user profile for resetting your location in favorite. For this open My Computer and in the top address bar copy paste this %userprofile%. You can see the Favorite folder. If there is no Favorite folder create a new one. Then right click on the this folder and go to Properties > Location > Restore Default.
