system with Windows 7 X64 hanged after installing Intel RST 10.0.1.1008 driver

Recently I have purchased Asus P5Q Pro motherboard with Intel dual core E8400 processor with windows 7 X64 operating system. Yesterday I just installed RST 10.0.1.1008 driver on the system. I had installed this on the freshly new windows 7. After installing I observed that the system is getting high CPU load after some amount of time that is causing the system to hang and is making the system unusable. It took me about 15 minutes to restart the system. I think there is something wrong with the RST 10.0.1.1008 driver that I installed because I had also installed few other drivers which I have uninstalled to see the problem. I have 2x Samsung HDD322hj (320gb) as raid0 as system disk (os+games) and 2x wdc wd15ears (1, 5 tb) as raid1 as storage disk (only data) Any suggestions

I think the problem is because you have installed RST 10.0.1.1008 driver. I think you should not go for RST 9.6 or any higher than that. If you used 9.6 to load the windows then upgrading would but obvious create problems. I think you should contact the Asus guys to have a look in this matter. As I know, I can’t detect the actual reason but still I am sure the problem is with the RST 10.0.1.1008 driver.

I have the same problem. I have installed the operating system on the raid0 and the raid1 is solely for the data storage. I don’t have any files of operating system in the raid1. Actually I was surfing the internet and this problem started. I don’t understand what is happening and why. I did not download any files from the internet also. Why does my drive go to sleep? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I think the problem will get resolved only when you install the RST 9.6 driver on windows 7 X64. I think there is some programming bug in the RST 10.0.1.1008 driver. Were you having 9.6 drivers then I think upgrading caused some problems because of which the drive is going to sleep. I assume there is some problem with the up gradation. It is possible that there is bug in the drive firmware or the drive would be a faulty one. I hope my suggestions are helpful to you. If it doesn’t solve then search related posts on the internet.
