Testing website in Adobe device Central with landscape view on iPad

I’m trying to create a website and needs to be displayed on ipad and it needs to look good. The problem is that I don’t have an ipad and I want to see how the website will look in iPad. I don’t know if I can I can have a landscape preview in Adobe device Control. Are there any device simulators which can be used to test the website or any other to preview it?

Make your own new profile in landscape mode, this way you will be able to test your website in landscape. This new profile can be based on the iPad profile which already exists, profiled in portrait mode. if you will follow these steps the device image any more, but emulation should work fine.

I don’t know if what you want is possible through Adobe device Central but it can be achieved through other emulators present on the web. Some of them do not even require installing they will directly work through your browser. Here is a list of such emulators -
    • mobiReady
    • IBBdemo2
    • iPadpeak
    • iphoney

You can download these from their official website. Also, some of them don’t work perfectly so check in more than one emulator.

You can use iPad Peek for testing your for previewing your website. It is a web based emulator so you don’t have to go through the tedious work of installing. It shows the rendering of any site on iPad. Although, it shows flash content which cannot be accessed by iPad .I hope you know flash is not supported by iPad. There are also other limitations like there is no touch scrolling and ads sometimes produce pop-ups.

What operating system are u using? get a development license from official site of apple and the sdk contains one to test applications. But I think the dev kit through Apple is only available on OSX. The SDK is free if you only want to run code in the simulator and not on an actual device. Of course a bigger problem might be the fact that it's OS X only. There is no version available for any other OS.

In my opinion you can try the PhoneGap Simulator. this simulator is an app for air and it is cross platform which mean it can executed on any OS and though it actually suppose to work with a framework with hybrid technology.Put the name of your website in it. It is helpful for debugging web based apps, but it may not be workable for your needs. Alas, they do not have a device profile for the iPad.
