    anyone has .dta reader...need contents 7 yrs back.....
    or converter

    I found the following product which can convert between many different data formats including the common Excel, Access, and Paradox and the more specialized SAS, Stata, Matlab, etc. It's called "Stat/Transfer" and was developed and is marketed by Circle Systems. It uses a simple GUI interface to let you choose an existing file and format (including any Stata file, versions 1-8) then an output file and format. The software is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux and is downloadable online. Sadly it's not shareware/freeware, but there is a demo available to try online.
