Where does iTunes store files while ripping CDs

Is the iTunes stock up my CD in mp3 format anywhere? How I can locate the files? newly started using a fresh iPod and place music on iphone and when I place on a CD, iTunes offers to place it within my music collection. It seemed like it was ripping the CD and then went to the iTunes library, but could not find music files anywhere on my hard drive. Until then, the whole thing within my music collection was of mp3 files that had previously started with the MusicMatch software and stored on your hard disk. I guess iTunes wants to control how to use or share the files so I only give access through the iTunes library that may be limited. If so, then please provide me any recommendation for superior software to place my CD on hard drive? I used to make use of MusicMatch years ago and might use a few updating.

I do not make use of iTunes (I am making use of the Media Monkey), but by default, iTunes stock up music files within My Documents > My Music > iTunes or in Documents > Music > iTunes. I don't keep in mind if you can identify a dissimilar place. It doesn't bind what you be able to sore there and if you ripped music manually, it doesn't bound what devices you can place music on. Though, if you desire an substitute then the Media Monkey is outstanding.

I would like to tell you that it does not lock you into a single musical ecosystem and is generally more Flexible. It will work with iPods, but if you are using an iPhone, iTunes may make more sense. You were asking for suggestions. Google for it and you can read up on it. iTunes used a mp4 format that is indeed AAC of some variation. I hope that you will get the answer for your question soon.

You can set iTunes to copy the mp3 format in the preferences. On a Mac, iTunes CD boots to the folders in Music / iTunes library. My hard drive is full so instead of letting iTunes will fill even more, I use Max (freeware ripper) and I say that to put mp3 files on a drive of 1 TB FireWire. There is no risk of filling one. I really should move to have my iTunes Music folder is on drive 1 TB.

iTunes does a better job of tagging songs. I just ripped about 20 cd's recently and found iTunes 9 / 10 of them while Max are perhaps two-thirds of them. If I do not have to deal with an entire hard disk, would definitely have to iTunes to rip to me after changing the mp3 format. By the way, most players recognize the DRM-free AAC format is what iTunes uses when copying music. However, I prefer MP3 since the majority of the players hold up mp3. I must also talk that I choose buying my music as of Amazon in MP3 format compared to iTunes even if there is more DRM.

It is not possible to change the folder where iTunes puts things but you can move things and tell iTunes to find there. It is awkward, but once you copy a CD, delete the music library (only the library, not the computer), move the folder to your external hard drive that you keep your other music and then the File menu, use "Add a folder to tell iTunes where the music files found. That first step is to prevent iTunes from creating duplicates.

You indeed can tell iTunes to change where it stores its files. You do not have to move manually. Just change the location of the library in Preferences-> Advanced. The quickest way to find a track that is on the disk is control-click/right-click the track and select "Show in Finder / Windows Explorer." iTunes can rip CDs as MP3 or AACS (among other formats), and copy files from the CD itself does not have DRM. The AAC format generally produces higher quality than MP3 files at the same bit rate. Audio files purchased as of the iTunes Store devoid of DRM. (There was a transition stage subsequent to the DRM was removed that you might obtain DRM-free versions).
