Speed up BIOS by the use of new SSD installed

Following configuring the new OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD in my computer, I enabled AHCI in BIOS. After this the computer is showing an additional screen which takes more time to boot up the Windows nearly 10 seconds more. After the logo appears in the screen, the system turns to black screen showing that the version supports only HDD and CD/DVD ROM drive. Do you think that this is normal? How can I avoid this? Should I have to update the BIOS version? Following are my computer’s specifications:
    • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
    • BIOS version: iSrc 1.07 08042006
    • Operating System: Windows 7 x64
    • OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD

First of all I need to tell you that you should double check the BIOS setting in your computer because you get stuck at the beginning. So this is obviously something to do with the BIOS configuration. If you are looking forward for flashing the BIOS then you can go for it. Sometime upgrading the BIOS from lower version to newer version may also fix the problem. For BIOS you need to visit your motherboard’s manufacturer website. Find the proper version of BIOS there and download it into the computer and then continue with the next process.

First of all uninstall all the drivers which you have installed for some external devices such as expansion slots and other included devices and then turn of the computer and remove the peripherals. Now start the computer and make proper changes to the BIOS and continue with the booting process. Now upgrade the BIOS version using Flash method and afterward re-install those peripheral with new drivers again. This may now fix the issue. If you have done any overclocking then reset it.

On one occasion you are within the BIOS, numerous extremely uncomplicated alterations can be executed to optimize the BIOS. The first obsession to carry out is to make use of the Auto-Detect IDE drives tool. Just the once you have utilized the utility to notice each and every one of your IDE hard drives, enter into the normal BIOS configuration menu and deactivate each and every one of the additional IDE channels. Don't be anxious if you contain a CD-ROM or additional device connected to those channels - the PC has an additional approach of detecting those fractions of hardware take apart from these settings.

One of the primary positions to assist speed boot time in Windows is to create a few uncomplicated alters to the BIOS. The BIOS otherwise Basic Input/Output System is a deposit of directions as well as commands integrated into the motherboard that permits the PC to make out what kind of hardware is connected and how to communicate with that hardware. You'll first have to gain access to the BIOS setup screen to create whichever alterations. Do not compose modifications to the computer settings inside the BIOS unconscientiously, one fault can turn into the PC unbootable and grounds more issues than its value.

For your issue go to the advanced BIOS setup and alter the subsequent entries:
    • QuickPOST – It is Quick Power-On Self-Test. Enable this and it may speed up computer startup.
    • Turbo Frequency - This setting faintly lifts the clock speed of the PC.
    • Disk drive Boot-Up - This informs the PC to look for new disk drives each instance it boots up. Try to disable it and see
    • Shadow System BIOS - This setting informs the PC to duplicate the BIOS program to major memory for quicker implementation.
