Which version of the MS Project 2010 you are using. If you are using the Beta version of the same then let me tell you that this is the bug related to the beta version which might be fixed in update or full version of the same. So check for same and see whether you got any solution or not. As you wanted to know about the conversion so let me tell you that go through the below given link which will help you with the same.
Convert project 2010 files to 2007
Thanks for your wuick reply. The version is a full version of MS. Project 2010 according to the vendor.
The converter you mentioned would not work as the file was created in 2010formate in the first place then saved as 'MS project 2007, but 2010 still can't open it.
Thanks anyway.
You will need to convert the MS project 2007 file, and converters for opening Office Project 2007 files are provided as part of Microsoft Office Project 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3). Download Microsoft Office Project 2003 Service Pack 3 from here. After upgrading to Microsoft Office Project 2003 SP3, you will be able to open a Project 2007 file in Project 2010 as a read-only file.
