wrong product key

I have bought a 3 user version for Microsoft Office Home and student 2007. I wote down the product key from the retail packaging as it was this big plastic case. I apparently wrote a digit wrong – the “5” is not a valid character in the following key –(character #10) I had to reinstall the program and I need the code again. What might the “5” be instead that is a valid character?

Most probably we use to make mistakes in '5' and 'S'. Did you tried putting 'S'?

If it is still wrong than try putting 6 in the place of 5.

I thought of the "S", but not the 6 -thanks. I'll try the next time it asks for the code (next to last time!) Do you think I could just try lots of different characters to see if they are accepted? Do you know if it "locks" up or something? Thanks again for the answer.

First of all never write the product key openly on any forums, websites or such because it can be used by other hackers or scammers and they would register it on their own name and you wont have any chance to recover it then. And yes, you can use different characters as many times as you would like because it will never lock up to you.
