Tally - closing balances and opening balances not matching

I got my hard disk crashed and after reloading I am finding very odd behavior like closing balances of 2009-10 and opening balances in 2010 - 2011 which are not matching . I tried various methods but no use.

Now I turned my self to this forum to find out the solution to this problem . May I request learned members to help me out.

    Thanks

From where does you restored your data. Tally saves all his data in the c drive Tally/DATA folder. There are some entries which are not properly recovered due to which you are seeing the difference in balance. Tally saves data in the form of XML or DBF. You can choose a suitable software that can read the data. But if you have lots of entries then it is not easy to get the exact deleted entry. How you recovered your data from the crashed hard drive.

Had a copy of Tally data in Pen drive and after reinstallation that data was used.
