Windows 7 unable to detect external monitor

I have just upgraded to windows 7home premium32 on the recently purchased dell laptop. In which I have previously using windows vista business. I was gladly using an LG1512s monitor plug up throughout the Sony Vaio docking position. But after this plugging I found that this Windows 7 is unable to find the external monitor. I don’t know what to do in this situation. Please help me to get the desired solution.

I think this issue is the cause of the driver in the laptop you has might be not supporting to the windows 7 so that I would like to suggest you to install the driver which support to the windows 7. You can check for this in the system maker’s site. I think the driver in the laptop might be compatible with the windows vista. So check out for this and see if you are getting the solution for the issue.

For getting away from this issue I think you need to do the following things which I am giving below:
    • First of all click on the desktop and then go to the properties option.
    • Once you have entered into that option then check out for the display tab and something like that if you are able to find.
    • If you are getting something like that if you see 2 monitors in there then check extended monitor and make enable.
    • If still not getting the solution then simply go to the Sony support and they will help you to get the desired solution.

I think to get the desired solution you need to go for the things I have suggesting below:
    • Go to the press window key and after this pause break to get the system properties.
    • After this you7 will get the system properties go to the device manager.
    • In that option you will get the display adapter to add the display.
