Outgoing mail not sent report an error 0x8004210B- Outlook 2007, XP, Hotmail

I am recently upgraded the system with all the latest drivers and the software’s the previous system was very dull. I am using outlook 2007 in the latest version and still using the same operating system windows XP as that was in the last system and configured a hotmail account I am also using MS outlook connector. I am facing the sending mail error while delivering the message the error message is Sending' reported error (0x8004210B): 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). What should I do? I have never had this to work.

I think this is happening because of the antivirus might be affecting it as the scanning feature which is integrated by the antivirus. So I think check for the antivirus is performing such action of the scanning integration then stop that feature and see if you are getting the solution for the problem or not if the problem is still persists then uninstall the antivirus and the check. I think there is some fault in the setting of the outlook which is very difficult to set up with other email client. As you are using the hotmail so I would like to suggest you to attach an HTTP account and supply your all hotmail credentials to it and then I think you will be able to send the mails and will get out of the error you are facing in the outlook. It also worked for me and I think it will help you to get the desired solution.

As you have described the problem it seems that it is a fault of the ISP. I think the outlook you are using is not compatible with the ISP. So I would like tell you to use the Eudora or Outlook express or Netscape Messenger will work with the outlook. Also check out that the mail account might have not been authenticated to the SMTP server. So try using them and so you will be able to get the desired solution. Hope this will help you.

Well I think this is an issue related to the outlook itself. So to check this you have to go to the windows mail and see if the same thing is happening into that then it is not the issue related to the outlook but something is wrong happening at the OS level. SO to get the resolve the issue try going to start option and then run and in the run box type telnet <address of SMTP server> 25 and see what happen. I think this will help you to get the desired solution.
