    Windows XP installation with nLite

I want to know more about the nLite on Windows XP. I am not much advanced user nor I am having enough ideas about the nLite. I am knowing just some basic things like nLite is a program that generates a Windows XP installer from the original. The resulting installer is lighter and updated. Can anyone over there can guide me about using this application. I am sure that someone over there must have used it. Please provide some steps that would be useful for me. Any other information related to the topic will also be helpful.

(The license for Windows XP allows you to make a backup). In this case, we are creating a CD with more updated drivers, and unattended installation (do not ask anything when you install, from start to finish), we also have the ability to remove some components, some prefer not using Internet Explorer, MSN or remove explorer, or permanently remove certain services from the Windows XP installer. Well this is the solution. While nLite is freeware, intermediate legal status is not defined. But no legal action from Microsoft to punish this type of software (nLite, Ultimate Boot CD, MiniPE, BartPE, Winternals ERD Commander, etc.). Before using it the following things you should have :
    1. Get Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 or the equivalent FrameworkLite.
    2. Download nLite from and FrameworkLite (If you do not have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0).
    3. Download Ultimate Boot CD for Windows Server recommended: Ninja Servers. (UBCD for WIN is a Live CD with their "sources") 175 Mb.
    4. Download Winup for Windows XP updates 111 Mb.
    5. Using your CD of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 integrated (If you have not integrated Service Pack 2, nLite will integrate it always you download the Service Pack 2)

The following are the steps for Running nLite:
    1. One must choose the steps that we do in nLite in this case all but integration of service pack 2.
    2. Insert the Windows updates in the Updates folder, the files from the Windows Update compiled.
    3. It includes the drivers from UBCD for windows, PNP drivers are automatically recognized, drivers must be manually selected text, when in doubt, better to cancel the inclusion of the driver (nVidia SCSI). The SCSI and SATA RAID drivers are in text mode. They appear when the windows installer recognizes hardware in the first screen, before asking if you agree with the license.
    4. It must select all the drivers.
    5. The drivers in the first pass undetected Plug & Play but in text mode is selected as a Plug & Play Cancel placed them, but I'm not sure it should be done with some drivers.
    6. Compatibility: nLite allows you to preserve some features not to damage them in the process.

Re: Windows XP installation with nLite

nLite is a program that generates a Windows XP installer from the original. The resulting installer is lighter, more updated and neglected. The license for Windows XP allows a backup. And it has a feature called administrative unattended installation, which is used by the program nLite is freeware (free use). There are many versions neglected as Phoenix, Colossus, etc. In some of these exaggerated in the configuration and many programs fail. In space is to avoid installing registry cleaners.

    • If the installer is administrative and networking, or you need the option "Repair Windows", you must not remove "manual installation." Furthermore, the unattended installation option must be "Prompt Repair" instead of "Fully Automated."
    • SFC is disabled, install quickly, you may want to enable it if you believe that CFS is useful in preventing virus attacks.
    • It is disabled System Restore System (being slow), so you enable it where you think necessary (User conflict with fast computer).
    • These settings meet these requirements: Fast, completely unattended, restrictive security issue against intruders, viruses or Trojans (No Allow Remote Assistance or external administrative access).
    • All this tutorial programs are freeware (free use), license or legal relevance of such programs is the responsibility of their respective developers.
