I like to know everything about computer system. When I am doing some stuff that time I see something like CHKDSK. I never heard anything about this so I want to know what is CHKDSK is and what is the working of CHKDSK or anything which help me get some knowledge about this. Please anyone give me some detail or tips for this. If possible than give some example or working of CHKDSK, so it’s help me to understand it properly. Thanking you in advance. Chkdsk also marks any damaged or not working sectors on the hard drive or disk as bad and recovers any information still intact. A chkdsk command is also available from the command prompt. Chkdsk is a utility that checks the computer's hard drives status for any cross-linked or any extra errors with the hard disk drive.
MS-DOS versions 2.x - 4.x used chkdsk.com.
MS-DOS versions 5.x and beyond used chkdsk.exe.
