    Re: Details of chkdsk command

I have some details related to chkdsk which must help you. The chkdsk command is an external command and is existed in the following Microsoft operating systems.
    1. Windows 7
    2. Windows Vista
    3. Windows XP
    4. Windows 2000
    5. Windows NT
    6. Windows ME
    7. Windows 98
    8. Windows 95
    9. All versions of MS DOS

    Syntax of Chkdsk Command:
    • chkdsk [drive:] [/p] [/r]

While using this alternative, the /p option is indirect so it's not necessary to utilize it in addition to /r.
    Examples of Chkdsk Command:
    • In the over example, since no drive or extra options were entered, chkdsk simply displays the status of the present drive.
    • chkdsk c: /r

In this case, the chkdsk command is used to execute an extensive check of the drive to correct any errors and to place any recover information from bad sectors.
