Importing messages in outlook express

I just had a new hard drive put into my laptop.
I've been able to import my address book but am having trouble with messages.
When I get to the folder in the store directory that shows my sent mail I get an error message that says:
... specified message store could not be opened. It may be in use by outlook express.

Anyone got any ideas?

This can be due to some service in the background. Do this form the system where you want the address book go to Tools and then click on Address book. Then from then click on Export. Then save the files in a folder and copy that to your new system. Then click on Import and select the folder where you have saved the contacts. As you got then check back this will work.
