KB976265 - where can I download it

I have read about an article describing a hotfix, namely KB976265, which solved the compatibility issues for most of the devices by providing the updates. But the problem is I am unable to find this hotfix anywhere on the Microsoft site. I need it because I am unable to use my Canon printer on Windows 7 computer. I am unable to find any drivers for the same and so I am looking for this hotfix. Suggest me where can I download it?

Do you mean Windows Application Compatibility Update? Here it is. The Windows Application Compatibility Update is a software update that improves the compatibility experience in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2.

You can even get this update from Windows update. Simply go to Start, All Programs, and then click Windows Update. Click on "Check for updates", and follow the wizard to install the necessary updates. I got the same from Windows Update itself and the best part I liked about this is that you don't need to restart your computer. Wow!

He was unable to install KB976265 from Windows Update because it is a Dynamic update and dynamic updates are only available during the installation of any operating system. It will be provided by Windows Update only if it is asked to check for updates later on after the installation process. So if you haven't selected this option then you are supposed to download it manually.
