How to use proxy and redirection in Exchange Server 2007?

I want to know about the proxy and redirection. In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 organization, a computer running Exchange 2007 and I have installed the Client Access Server client can precede as a proxy for supplementary Client Access servers within the organization. This is helpful when numerous Client Access servers in dissimilar Active Directory sites in an organization, and not all Active Directory sites are release to the Internet. But I don't know much about the usage of proxy and redirection in Exchange Server 2007.!! So can anyone from your side can tell me how to use proxy and redirection in Exchange Server 2007? Any other information related to the topic would be grateful.

To configure the Client Access server for creating proxy and redirection links, you must modify two properties of the virtual directories that are used to gain access to the various client access protocols. These two properties are:
    • InternalURL This property includes the URL of the virtual directory intranet. It is configured involuntarily during installation. In most installations, it is not obligatory to change the value of InternalURL.
    • InternalURL This property includes the URL of the Internet virtual directory. This value is available in DNS and should be set physically depending on the configuration.

In Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 front-end server corresponds with the back-end server using HTTP. In Exchange 2007, the Client Access server communicates in the midst of the mailbox server via RPC. You must have a Client Access Server in Exchange 2007 Active Directory all sites surrounding a mailbox server. The proxy function represents that a Client Access server hurls traffic to another Client Access server.

A Client Access server Exchange 2007 can act as a proxy of applications in the following circumstances:
    • Between Client Access servers Exchange 2007 proxy applications of two Client Access servers in Exchange 2007 enable organizations with multiple Active Directory sites designate one or more Client Access servers as servers open to the Internet, and make exercising the function of proxy servers for applications to access client sites that have no Internet presence. A Client Access server to the Internet open redirect an incoming request to the Client Access server on the same site as the mailbox. This strategy is called according to CAS-CAS proxy.
    • Involving a Client Access server to Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange 2003 Server Applications from external customers who attach to Outlook Web App using the virtual directory \ Exchange or connect to Microsoft Exchange through ActiveSync virtual directory \ Microsoft -Server-ActiveSync will be redirected to the server back-end Exchange 2003 apposite.

The proxy function is companionable with customers by means of Web services Web App Outlook, Exchange ActiveSync and Exchange. The proxy function is sustained from one Client Access server to another when the Client Access server stations running the equivalent version of Exchange or an earlier version of the Client Access server of origin. However, Exchange Web Services cannot be redirected by proxy from a server running Exchange Server 2007 SP1 to a server running the original RTM version of Exchange 2007, since that version does not support redirect to Exchange Web Services.
