Issue with Microsoft Excel application in DCOMCNFG

I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows 7. I have an application in ASP.Net which uses Excel Application Object. The problem is that it give an error message while accessing that is "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005." Do look out for the thing. It used to work well when with Windows Xp.

You need to process out certain steps in order to work well which would be better for you. Do look out by following the desired steps as mentioned as below:

    • You need to right click on My computer and then select the properties
    • Then you need to choose the COM Securities tab
    • As it is been done you need to look for Access Permissions, Then click on Edit Defaults.
    • Now you need to add Network Service to it and give Allow Local Access permission.
    • For the thing <Machine_name>\Users
    • Now as it is been done Activation Permissions click Edit defaults. Now add the network Service and then give the local launch and local activation permission. For the same <Machine_name>\users

There is another way through which you can process well for the thing that is by making the thing to be worked well and that is by clicking on start button and then in the searchbar option type DCOMCNFG.EXE. As it is been done hit enter and then on Computer option to DCOM Config locate component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}. You need to modify the permission.
