FLAC and Windows Media Player 12

I have recently upgraded my system from Microsoft Windows Vista to Windows 7 OS. And I had heard that Windows Media player 12 is good for Windows 7. I am having the setup of FLAC Player which I was using before in Vista. I found at some place that Windows Media Player 12 brings a lot of benefits in terms of video output and it is also having many features for boosting the audio quality. My requirement is just limited to audio files only. I do not want to install anything that can make my system performance slow. So which one will be good to choose.

FLAC, stands for free audio compression codec lossless. It is a open source standard. And it is made for mac system. By default windows media player comes pre-installed and a new version here will be lot more helpful. So here if you want you can add both of them. It is completely on your choice.
