MS Project: Predecessors of subproject to main project

My situation is that I have a huge project that requires subprojects. How do I set the predecessor of the subproject to the main project. Example:

main project:
1 task
2 task
3 task
subproject
1 task
2 task
3 task
4 task

How would I set subproject task 1 to start at the finish of main project task 3?

You are seeing two different things. The appaearance of "ghost" tasks in projects with linked tasks is controlled in Tools, Options, View, with the checkboxes "Show external predecessors" and "Show external successors". And yes, you are seeing leveling messages: make sure in Tools, Level
Resources, that Leveling is set to Manual, not Automatic.

Solomon: I still understand how to setup the predecessors from the sub to the main project. I know that I am seeing 2 projects, as that is how I set it up.

You can type the dependency directly into the Predecessors column. First, note the predecessor task's ID number. Then, scroll to the task that will become its successor. In the Predecessors field of the successor task, type the predecessor task's ID number and the appropriate dependency abbreviation: SS, FF, FS, or SF.
