IE7 fails to open .xps files completely

Windows XP SP3 with Office 2007 and IE7. Net framework 3.5
When you try to open a file with the .xps extension IE briefly opens and then closes without warning. Support docs suggest Net Framework uninstall and reinstall which I did. The same file opens on other computers but not this one. It also will not open for any users on this computer including administrators. File association is the same as the other computers. Looking for ideas on what else could be causing this issue.

It looks like that in your system the XPS viewer application is not working properly. If has failed to open the dll files which actually depends on the same work. If that files are not proper or misson then you cannot view those files. Try to re-install the .net framework in your system. Change the security settings of internet explorer and then check back again. You can download a XPS viewer for that.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled net framework several times and it did not help. IE settings are locked down on all of our computers and cannot be changed. This issue does not show up on any other computer so I doubt that IE settings are the culprit. Do you know which dll files are dependent with the xps viewer? I might try to reregister those files.

    Hi,

Hope my tips help may you:

I'll start with the obvious questions and go from there.

Have you changed any security settings in the recent past?

What version of IE and Windows are you running?

Have you applied any recent updates to your windows machine?

Have you installed any new software recently?

Let's get those answers and we can move on from there.
